History
A group of general dentists, who were in the pioneer batch of successful candidates of the Diploma in General Dental Practice from the Royal College of Surgeons (England), conceived the idea for a College of General Dental Practitioners in 1998. The Board of Advisors comprised:

  • Mr Chan Yee Wing, the then Chief Dental Officer
  • Mr Malcolm Pendlebury – Dean, Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (UK), The Royal College of Surgeons of England
  • Prof Ho Kee Hai of the Dental Faculty, National University of Singapore

The Registrar of Societies approved the registration of the College in mid-1999. Our first official registered address was the National Dental Centre.
